A Boyfriend Should Always...

I admit that I'm a Twitter junkie. I love figuring out how to network well, write good posts that catch the attention of others, create a buzz...all that stuff. One lesser-utilized method of gaining some followers is to write tweets that correspond to current "trending topics." That means that if all around the world people are tweeting about something in particular you should join the party and make a name for yourself and add good content!

Well, I recently got sucked into posting almost 30 posts with the hash tag #ABoyfriendShouldAlways. It was a trending topic, and there was a ton of really bad advice out there (go figure), so I wanted to make a positive impact on the conversation. What occurred next surprised me greatly. Every one of my tweets was retweeted several times. In fact, it might have been the most popular series of tweets I've ever sent out.

So for those of you not on board with the Twitter world, or for those who just missed the barrage of tweet-bombing that took place, I just wanted to list them all for you here. It was really fun writing these, and perhaps you'll find a small nugget of wisdom hidden in a few of them!

3. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways respect the rules of his girlfriend's parents, both within the home and outside it as well

5. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways represent Christ with his actions and intentions
6. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways leave the horizontal tango for marriage
7. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways should practice good leadership to his future wife long before they get engaged.

9. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways snuggle with the lights and clothes on
10. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways pursue his girlfriend but know when to quit...either because she asks him to, or the Bible commands him to

12. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways get a good mentor to walk him through what it means to date well
13. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways own up to his mistakes. Being a man starts early, not just once you've got a ring on her finger.

17. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways have eyes for his girlfriend only. No window shopping when you've already made your purchase

20. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways be like a good policeman and "serve and protect."

22. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways have the courage to stand for what is right, even if it means losing the girl

24. #ABoyfriendShouldAlways treat his lady with respect, whether or not she deserves it

Some of these are pretty common sense. I just hoped to write several memorable, catchy phrases to throw some positive influence into the mix. If you're dating (or have kids who are), maybe review this list.
